I first met Katie J in the summer of 2019 when we both participated in a riding workshop with Bernie Traurig. Her beautiful riding was definitely #goals then and even more so now!

She has a new partner G-Star aka Cisco and they’re on the Elvenstar show team with big eq goals. I was lucky enough to do a sunset shoot at Elvenstar with this pair and could not be happier with the results:

That big white muzzle is just asking for snuggles!

G Star is only 8 and has already been to Maclay Finals, so I felt he was trustworthy enough for Katie to mount up for a few shots. Of course, he was perfect. ?

While high heels and a dress is not usual barn attire, I think it works beautifully for photos.

Katie was kind enough to model one of the new skirts from my client closet and I LOVE how it looks on her!

It’s hard to pick but this shot below, in black and white, might be my favorite! I think the expression on both horse and rider are lovely, and the movement of Katie’s hair gives it a little something extra.

I can’t think of any better combination than a California sunset, a beautiful girl, and a perfect horse. ??
